Henry Cejudo takes on Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298

Henry Cejudo broke the news that he’s agreed to take on Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298 in February. Cejudo made the announcement on his YouTube channel.

The winner would be next in line for a bantamweight title shot, pending the result of Sean O’Malley vs. Marlon “Chito” Vera at UFC 299 in March.

Multiple outlets have since confirmed the booking, according to Sherdog.

Cejudo returned to the sport after a three-year break earlier this year, losing a close split decision to Aljamain Sterling in a bid to recapture the bantamweight title he vacated.

Dvalishvili, meanwhile, will come into the fight riding an impressive nine-fight win streak, tied for the fourth longest active winning streak in the UFC.

UFC 298 is headlined by a featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria and will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
